The Reserved Category Cell at CSB Jhanjeri plays a crucial role in supporting students from various backgrounds (SC/ST/OBC). Their mission is to ensure a level playing field for all students by providing them with the resources they need to succeed.

The cell accomplishes this by offering a dedicated team of professionals who provide guidance, counselling, and tailored assistance. They also organise workshops, seminars, and outreach programs to equip students with the knowledge and tools they need. These initiatives raise awareness of available resources and opportunities, empowering students to take advantage of them.

Furthermore, the cell actively advocates for students from reserved categories and works to bridge any gaps that may exist. Their efforts contribute to a more diverse and inclusive campus environment, where everyone feels valued and respected.

Objectives

  • Safe and Supportive Environment: Creates and maintains a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for SC/ST staff and students on campus
  • Addressing Issues: Proactively addresses issues faced by SC/ST staff and students, preventing discrimination and ensuring their well-being
  • Compliance with Regulations: Fulfills the regulations set forth by AICTE regarding the establishment of a committee for SC/ST
  • Promoting Inclusion: Works to foster a more inclusive campus culture where everyone feels valued and protected

Responsibilities

  • Addressing Grievances: The Committee serves as a point of contact for SC/ST staff and students to address any complaints they may have.
  • Promoting Education: The Committee actively promotes technical and management education among these groups, encouraging them to pursue higher studies.
  • Ensuring Policy Compliance: They monitor and evaluate the reservation policies set forth by the Government of Punjab for the welfare of BC/SC/ST students.
  • Scholarship and Fee Assistance: The Committee works diligently to ensure qualified and eligible students receive both fee reimbursement and scholarships.
